When it comes to terrorism, some groups are simply more successful than others. There are those which skyrocket to fame only to wither and disappear: the FLQ in Canada in the 1960s and early 1970s comes to mind. Then there are those which seem to last decades: Al Shabaab in Somalia is a good example, as it has been active for going on two decades. Despite Somali government claims of success against these jihadis, they are still quite lethal. What does this mean for the Horn of Africa? I talk with a Canadian specialist on these issues.
